Laura Rae is a Los Angeles based singer, songwriter with a smooth inviting alto voice. Her music captures the essence of soul, jazz, gospel and pop that has become her own unique personalized sound.
Raised in the Midwest, she started singing in her local church at the age of five and continued developing her musical talents throughout her teen years. She then went on to pursue a degree in voice and communications at Taylor University in Upland, IN. During this time, she was able to perform with touring musicians and bands and also discover her passion for songwriting.
Encouraged to follow her dreams, she moved to Nashville, TN. During her stay in Nashville, she was able to connect and work with many talented artists such as Kirk Whalum and Claude McKnight from Take 6.
Eventually her endeavors called her to Los Angeles, where she started working with inner-city youth. She had a life changing experience at a music retreat about “Finding your Passions” where she discovered that her true passion was inner-city youth and the homeless.
Today, Laura Rae is fulfilling the call to combine the gifts and talents that she’s been given to pour back into the organizations that are on the front lines serving the disenfranchised, forgotten, and broken.
Her music has inspired many throughout her journey and her mission is to give back fifty percent of all proceeds to serve and support these organizations throughout the world.
